Utilizzo del topografo corneale nella contattologia morbida. Esperienze personali.

Il topografo corneale dopo circa due anni di uso in contattologia rigida, da un anno viene utilizzato a scopo diagnostico anche per l'applicazione di lenti a contatto morbide. La topografia corneale permette di valutare in maniera più articolata i valori corneali e le successive modificazioni.

An algorithm to recalculate topographic maps from any axis for computer assisted videokeratography (Articolo in inglese)

A problem that has been frequently attribuited to CAVKs is that curvature maps have always referred to the vertex as normal: a center that has no physiological meaning and, usually, has no relation with the pupil entrance and the line of sight, nor with the corneal apex. Another limit of both paraxial and instantaneous curvatures is their dependence from the reference axis through the vertex (and thus maps do not show all of the infinitive curves that are present at any point).

Assessment of the Power and Height of Radial Aspheres Reported by a Computer-assisted Keratoscope (Articolo in inglese)

The two purposes of this study were (a) to assess the accuracy with which a keratoscope, the Topographic Modeling System (TMS-1). calculated the heights and powers of rotationally symmetric, radially aspheric test surfaces and (b) to determine whether the TMS-1 used an axial solution for radius of curvature to determine the power of a sphere that would produce the same semichod as would the test surface on a keratograph.

Apparent Pupil Displacement. (Articolo in inglese)

With videokeratography, the apparent position of the entrance pupil of some eyes is displaced by up to 0.5 mm from the center of the target ring image or the corneal map. This displacement occurs because of the alignment system and is not affected significantly by the corneal central radius of curvature, peripheral asphericity, or other shape parameters.
