Corneal Epithelial Defect May Affect Anterior Chamber Flare. (Articolo in inglese)

To determine the clinical practicability of in vivo dynamic corneal imaging (DCI) to assess the individual elastic properties of normal human eyes, eyes with abnormal findings, and eyes after refractive surgery. Drs. Tomas-Barberan and Fagerholm's article, 'Anterior chamber flare after photorefractive keratectomy' (J Refract Surg 1996;12:103-107) evaluated anterior chamber inflammation following photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) using the Kowa laser flare cell meter, and found a significant increase in anterior chamber flare after PRK.

Secondo le più accreditate casistiche sul cheratocono, solo il 15-20% dei pazienti affetti da tale patologia vanno incontro ad intervento chirurgico. È altrettanto vero che solo pochi soggetti possono ricorrere esclusivamente alla correzione a tempiale con soddisfazione. Quindi la maggior parte dei pazienti affetti da tale malattia trovano nell'uso delle lenti a contatto (LAC) l'unico presidio efficace.

Changes of Corneal Aberrations in Sitting and Supine Positions (Articolo in inglese)

The Keratron topographer, improved to measure patients in the supine position, was used to measure the corneal aberrations and the curvature in nine healthy volunteers. The first measurement took place with the subject in the sitting position and the others in the supine position, immediately after assuming the supine position and then 30 minutes later.

Ultrasound biomicroscopic imaging of anterior segment of the eye with Hi-Scan ultrasound diagnostic apparatus (Articolo in inglese)
