All India Ophthalmology Congress 2006 at Bhopal, India

This year the meeting of All India Ophthalmology Society was held at Minoto Hall, Bhopal from February 9th to 12th, 2006. Three thousand Ophthalmologists and Post Graduates from all over India participated in the conference.

Corneal Epithelial Defect May Affect Anterior Chamber Flare

To determine the clinical practicability of in vivo dynamic corneal imaging (DCI) to assess the individual elastic properties of normal human eyes, eyes with abnormal findings, and eyes after refractive surgery. Drs. Tomas-Barberan and Fagerholm's article, 'Anterior chamber flare after photorefractive keratectomy' (J Refract Surg 1996;12:103-107) evaluated anterior chamber inflammation following photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) using the Kowa laser flare cell meter, and found a significant increase in anterior chamber flare after PRK.


Quality of vision improved with ORK-W system

Customised ablation performed with the Schwind Esiris laser excimer and topography-based aberrometry does not appear to provide patients with better visual acuity than standard Lasik – although it may provide them with a better quality of vision, Greek researchers say.

Regional meeting of Ophthalmology 2005 Taipei, Taiwan

This year's Regional meeting of Ophtalmology of Taiwan, held in Taipei in December 2005, reinforced Clinico as a leader in Taiwanese ophtalmic supplies. Optikon Pulsar and VitModule, new modular system for anterior and posterior segment, exhibited at Clinico booth, attracted attention of most of Taiwanese ophtlmologists.
